I build the table and chairs from raw Alder wood locally sources from our hardwood lumber store. Each dining set is made with extreme care, and plenty of time is put into these to make them a top tier dining table set. The table top is made with 1 1/2" thick Alder wood, sanded to 220 grit to bring out the natural beauty out of the wood. The legs are made with 2 1/2" thick Alder wood.
