ABOUT EOSIN: Its composition & preparation Composition is unknown for a long time, & it was the secret of ceramics manufactured in Gubbio, Italy. in Hungary, it was first produced by Vince Wartha analyzing the glaze involving a bowl of Giorgio Andreoli in Gubbio, & then with Vilmos Zsolnay the material & process were restored at the Factory in Pécs. The first such products were presented at the Budapest Clay Industry Exhibition in 1891, & from 1893 they were manufactured operationally - primarily as a coating of Art Nouveau-style ceramics. in the Zsolnay porcelain factory, the porcelain is first mapped with a turquoise transparent, unleaded glaze of turquoise color, & then burned out. This is where the dark mass with a secret composition is placed, which contains two types of materials: a mixture of colored & precious metals, as well as its carrier. They are dried, burned in a reductive atmosphere, & then washed off the mass. This is how the characteristic eosine glaze becomes visible. in the end, therefore, the material that creates eosine is not on the finished ceramic. Ceramics have only a very thin layer of color created due to a special physical effect, the so-called physical color. This is a phenomenon similar to a colored soap bubble or oil stain (thin layer interference). The thickness of the layer can be compared with the wavelength of light.
