Whether you are baking chocolate chip cookies, whipping up frosting, making French toast, or doing any other kind of baking, the vanilla extract you use makes a big difference! Made with only organic vanilla beans, vodka and time, our extracts have a deeper, bolder, & richer flavor than the extracts you would find in a store. In the store, you are either buying alcohol & a synthetic flavor called vanillin or alcohol plus "vanilla bean extractives" made with a heat-extraction method that breaks down some of the flavor compounds & from a crushed vanilla bean paste made from a mixture of beans from various regions.With homemade, you are buying only premium vodka & organic beans from a singular, known region. The flavor is drawn out with a cold-extraction that takes 6 to 12 months to fully draw out all of the flavor compounds located in the oils and in the vanilla beans themselves, which are called the bean "caviar". If you've ever watched a cooking show where they scrape the vanilla bean with a knife, the caviar is what they are using; these are the little specks that you will see in your bottle. While store-bought extracts filter these out to use again, we leave these in the extract, which brings additional flavor to your dishes. We also leave part of the bean in your bottle so that it can continue aging and developing flavor in your cabinet!Our extracts are made to FDA standards for 100% pure vanilla extract: 13.35 oz of organic beans in 1 gal of 80 proof vodka.
