Description

"Many of my life experiences as a child and teenager in Paterson, New Jersey, "Silk City," mean more to me now than they ever did. My Italian heritage has made my life rich and colorful. You may not have grown up with a national historic landmark a few blocks away, but perhaps my experiences will rekindle the memory of a person, place or thing you may have simply forgotten." Kathryn Conti Salamone lived within twenty miles of Paterson, New Jersey her entire life. She graduated from Seton Hall University in New Jersey and then earned a master's degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Following graduate school, she was an adjunct faculty member at Union County College in New Jersey. She was a writer and editor in trade magazine journalism, a communications manager at a multinational healthcare company, and a marketing and communications professional at two hospitals in Northern New Jersey. While raising her family, she did freelance writing and held leadership roles with local community groups in Wayne and Kinnelon, New Jersey. She and her late husband John relocated to Southern Delaware in 2016 where she continues to live. Her lasting and loving memories of her Italian upbringing in her hometown are evident in this collection.
