Description

Victory & Glory: Napoleon allows two players to relive the entire Napoleonic Wars in one game session. One player will take the role of France in their attempt to unite the continent of Europe with its powerful military led by one of history's most restless minds: a genius who would reform Europe's tired political, economic, and social structures while fighting a series of wars against those who resisted this change. The other player will take the role of Great Britain as it struggled to oppose French domination of the continent by cobbling together a series of alliances with the other great powers. Great Britain used its thriving economy and domination of the seas to blockade France while subsidizing the war effort against France. Both players will have to make difficult decisions about where to focus, including Economy, Military, Political Influence, and Leadership & Tactics to prevail. These decisions are made simply by selecting which cards are played from the player's hand, and which end up being discarded. The card-driven gameplay allows the players to make interesting tactical choices while also formulating strategic plans. This simple mechanic makes it easy to create a coherent strategy within the context of the actual events of the era depicted on the cards. In the early years, the French will seem to run rampant, but eventually the tide will turn and they will find themselves in a vicious fight to maintain the empire that they have built. Who will prevail? Will you be the one to re-write history? In this incredibly illustrated strategy game by Glenn Drover with a historical flair, each nation's military units are portrayed with historically accurate uniforms. Additionally, most event cards have artwork by world-renowned Napoleonic artist Keith Rocco. This game is great for gateway and hardcore gamers, with a 2-hour standard gameplay. It's recommended for ages 14 and up and played on a giant 44.5 x 35.25 inch gameboard with artwork by Paul Niemeyer. | Forbidden Games Victory & Glory: Napoleon
