Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic 19th century antique crotch mahogany & marble table. Commonly referred to as flame mahogany, crotch mahogany grows at the crotch of a mahogany tree where two trunks or limbs split. The table has a wonderful inset beveled marble top with a scalloped table box with edge moldings & 2 drop finials on each of the six sides. The table is in great condition with our only condition notes being a few well done veneer repairs at the base, a few small age splits in the veneer & repairs to the molded edge where it'd been knocked off & re glued. We'll have our restorer go over the table & fabricate the few missing pieces of the edge molding. This is such a rare furniture format we were willing to look past the few veneer & molding repairs as it's almost expected in a life of 150+ years.
