Oswestry Owl - a handprinted linocut print A barn owl rests in the moonlit, Powys countryside The barn owl population is in decline, with just 4,000 breeding pairs in the UK. Monitoring them requires staying up all night for any volunteer bird surveyor, so it's a less popular activity. This print is inspired by the barn owls that live at my parents' house near Oswestry. I also hear tawny owls most evenings in my home in Northamptonshire. It's actually just tawny owls that go twit-to-woo!
