Exceptionally fine Mahogany Centennial Chippendale Secretary ca. 1870- 1890. This desk stands proud on ogee bracket feet. The broken arch top with dentil molding below contrasts the graceful curves of the hand scalloped doors. The two doors with original lock & key open to an interior that has two shelves which can each be adjusted by several inches. Below the doors are two pull out candle slides ( missing knobs). The base unit of the desk has a slant top above four graduated drawers. Inside you will find an interior with 6 cubbies, 5 drawers, one small locking cabinet & two narrow secret drawers.
