This, as of yet untitled linocut (I promise to title them before shipping them out is a contemporary linocut, whith strong visual references to the women who fought before us. It was inspired by 1970s female linocut artists, & their frequent use of symbolism, as well as fin de siecle posters, from the time when a vote was still something to be fought for. The fight for equality is far from over, but strength & love goes hand in hand, as does remembrance & agency. Happy international women's day ️ This linocut was carved by hand, inked by hand using Caligo Safe-wash ink, handpulled on an etching press, & signed & numbered by hand. As a result each print is a unique & original work of art. It is printed in ruby red on beautiful, soft, Japanese Kozo paper. This paper is handmade & may vary slightly in size, measuring approx 21-22cm x 21-22cm.
