Windsor chairs originated in England & were designed in a manner where as the joints dry over time they shrink & tighten up. This chair has everything one could look for in a great New England chair including a comfortable shaped saddle seat, bamboo turned legs , turned H stretcher, & a finely formed dramatic bowed back. The chair is in great condition free from breaks & all the joints are nice & tight. We can't tell you how many Windsor chairs we pass up on. If a chair has repaired spindles or has been structurally altered we'll just pass it off to an auction or give it to a few cheap outlets we work with.
