SCOTTISH CROSSBILL, THE BIRD COLLECTION This is an original linocut print, limited edition of 14. Inspired by the UK love for bird-watching & historic houses. This print depicts the "Scottish Crossbill", the only vertebrate specie native & exclusive from the UK. They breed only in the highlands of the NE of Scotland. The background design is based on 19th C wallpaper from NT Oxburgh Hall, Norfolk. This print has been hand-carved from an original drawing. After hand-inking every colour layer, I use a beautiful Victorian book press to complete the process. All prints are numbered & signed. Printed with Cranfield oil based ink in multiple colours onto 190gsm off white acid free semi-smooth paper. Please note that each print is completely unique so speckling & print finishes may vary slightly from the photos. The same applies to the tones in colour.
