www.manyamade.com The key idea of Kurinuki tea set is to craft pottery spontaneously so that it looks "alive." For this purpose, I create raw & sculptural teapot & tumbler avoids refined & smooth finishing with the addition of natural elements, which in combination create an organic duo. Kurinuki is an ancient Japanese technique that consists of long carving of clay & lasts from several hours to several days. The difficulty lies in creating a uniform wall of the product & preventing breaks during firing. The handle of the kettle is made of wood, which is washed by water & created by nature itself. It repeats the shape of the hand, which causes tactile pleasure. Kettle size: H = 7.5 inch / 20 cm, volume: 750 ml Mugs/Tumbler size: H = 3.5 inch / 9 cm, volume: 200 ml (2 pcs.) All my works are sculpting by hand & may differ from the stated sizes by 0.3inch / 1 cm. The tea set are made of stone clay, calcined at 1220o C / (2282o f), & safe for food, certified (lead-free) Eco glaze, so my dishes are light & strong, safe for daily use. Can be used in microwave & dishwashers. For the manufacture of all works is used 100% solar energy, so all dinnerware are environmentally friendly.
