Mid century modern - original production 100 % Melamine - Designed by Henning Koppel in the late 50s for Torben Ørskov of Copenhagen. Henning Koppel (1918 - 1981) was a Danish artist & designer. Henning is most known for his work for Georg Jensen in the years after World War II but had also designed porcelain for Bing & Grøndahl, glass for Holmegaard & lamps for Louis Poulsen. This vibrant colour & melamine tableware was an unusual deviation from Koppel's work in silverware & jewellery, but shows the same sculptural quality & form that characterises all his work. 14 cm / 5.5 inches tall & diameter: 26.5 cm / 10.75 inches The bowl is in very good condition with one small flea bite on rim & a few light scuffs from daily use Marked on the base with the Torben Ørksov logo, Henning Koppel's HK monogram & T.
