Each candle burns 20-25 hours, when maintenanced correctly. If you notice black soot coming from your candle, the wick is too long. Extinguish the flame, allow the wax to harden, & trim the wick to 1/4" before re-lighting. Discontinue use of your candle when there is 1/2" of wax left at the bottom, or if the wick shifts.
