Our custom CHEF butcher block cart will be made to order just for you with locally sourced New England sugar maple. The butcher block top is made with edge grain, raw sugar maple beams, approximately 3" thick. Sugar maple is the superior wood for butcher block use as it is a resilient, tight-grained, naturally sanitary hardwood. You can cut & chop directly on the surface of your cart. The base is solid maple & can be painted any color. Shown in black, Sherwin Williams' "Spicy Hue" & Benjamin Moore's "Subway Tile". The large utensil drawer has a shaker style face, that glides smoothly to reveal a spacious storage area. The standard appliance pulls are solid bronze in matte black, however, pulls can be customized to your liking. The casters are vintage-style black. The CHEF can also be made as a stationary base for a more permanent fixture. Your wood will have its own unique characteristics based on the lumber from the mill. The raw butcher block is conditioned with beeswax & food safe mineral oil. The two solid maple shelves are finished with a natural hardening oil. Current lead time is 6-8 weeks. Clients in most of New England & the NY Metro area will receive white glove delivery. Clients who are not in our white glove delivery region will receive this fully assembled on a freight pallet delivered to your curbside or driveway by appointment. You will need to have help on hand to unpack the pallet & get the island into your home. Freight drivers can not help you unpack or move the island.
