Description
This charming blue & white planter is made with terra cotta clay thrown on the potter's wheel. It is fired twice in the kiln to a very high temperature. Before the first firing I paint white slip on one half of the pot & add the blue Italian flower design. When the planter comes out of the kiln a clear glaze is used to cover the blue & white design & it is fired again. I love how the shiny glazed blue & white surface contrasts with the matte unglazed terra cotta clay. This planter is designed for succulents & and herbs. It measures 4.50 inches at the top diameter x 3.50 inches in height. The planter had a hole for drainage in the bottom & comes with a thrown terra cotta saucer.
