The HR hand roller is made from natural wood & is deeply carved to make a beautiful imprint on clay. MKM hand rollers are not laser carved. All the carving is done with a bevel so the design releases easily & cleanly from the clay. The wood is finished with oil to create a long lasting very high quality hand tool that is intended for unlimited uses. The roller can be rolled by hand over the surface of a clay slab or rolled up the wall of a thrown pot to create clear patterns. SIZE: 10 cm long (4 inches) & 1.5 cm in diameter (1/2 inch plus) HOW TO USE: Roll the HR across the clay with your hand or any piece of wood (as long as you want to roll) to create an even texture. For thrown pieces roll up the wall of a thrown pot to create clear & beautiful patterns. Rib the inside of the bowl to reshape the form. ADDITIONAL USES: This texture tool is designed for use with any clay, including polymer & metal clays. MKM hand rollers can be rolled over fondant, gum paste, or modeling clay to create unique impressions. HOW TO CLEAN: The patterns are cut with a slight bevel to ensure the rollers release easily.
