Handmade watercolor made of natural earth mineral. The color is highly saturated & rich. It is lightfast & transparent. Specs: Lightfastness: High Granulation: Yes Staining: No Transparency: Yes Pigment: PBr 6 Available in half-pans. NOTE: Mineral watercolors are different from classic watercolors. If you are not familiar with mineral watercolors, please read below. 1) Mineral watercolors are essentially made of crushed minerals (solid rocks) & have granulation that can range from subtle to coarse. Mineral colors are a great choice if you like texture in your paintings. 2) Mineral watercolors require pre-wetting before they are ready to use. Add 2-3 drops of water to the pan & wait for 1-2 minutes before using the color. Heavily granulated colors may not work with thin brushes - you may need to use a larger (size 6+) brush to pick up & disperse the granules. Mineral watercolors are great in washes where you can see & appreciate the unique hues & granulation. The granules will stay on paper & will not fall off - the binder is strong enough to keep them in place. 3) Mineral watercolors are less saturated than earth pigments or synthetic colors. Some of them remain subtle & pale even when applied in multiple layers (see Siderite or Glauconite). Mineral colors blend well with all classic colors & you can combine them to create deeper or brighter hues & color progressions. Made in a small batch with a use of natural & organic materials. The pigment is combined with organic gum arabic, organic honey, organic essential oil (preservative), & vegetable glycerin. There are no other additives or fillers, just pure mineral pigment.
