Title: "The Iron Horse" The Iron Horse is recognized as an Athens Georgia landmark that has welcomed students & visitors for decades. This famous modern art sculpture has a colorful history. in 1954, artist Abbot Pattinson created this 12 ft, 1 ton abstract sculpture & it was installed at the university, right in front of Reed Hall. It seemed that the students weren't exactly thrilled to have this modern art on campus & after some protesting, vandalism, & attempts to set fire to the statue, it was moved to a secret warehouse for several years. One day, a UGA horticultural professor found it & decided to move it to his farm, where it still stands in the fields. I think it's kind of lovely how this once rejected piece of art is now visited & photographed every year by hundreds of people This is an archival quality fine art print of my original acrylic painting.
