Each artwork is made to order, printed by hand & mounted with care. The process of lino printing creates a lovely texture on the surface of the paper so you can see the artwork has been printed by hand, not digitally. The designs for my Animal Alphabet Series are taken from my own sketches. Inspired by wanting to create some unique artwork for my son's nursery wall, the B for Bjorn was my first design. The work is sold mounted & backed, but not framed. PERSONALISE YOUR PRINT: You can personalise your order by choosing from a selection of 8 different colours: Cerise pink Orange Yellow ochre Viridian green Turquoise Brilliant blue Purple Black I also hand write the recipient's name as an inscription on the mount in pencil which gives a really personal touch, especially if this is a gift. I sign & date each print. MY PROCESS: The prints are created by carving my sketches into a sheet of Soft Cut Lino using specialist tools, then inked & rolled to create an inverse relief print, generating the image as seen. If you'd like to understand more about my process do follow me on Instagram: @themamabjorn Due to the bespoke nature of this process, each print varies slightly & is totally unique, any slight variations add to the charm. No two prints will be exactly the same. THE SPECIFICS: Each print is printed using Premium Block Printing Watercolours, onto Zerkall extra smooth 145gsm Printmaking Paper, which is mold made part cotton rag, it's Acid Free & very slightly off white. Each print comes mounted in Off White, using 1.4mm conservation grade mount board, the artwork will be carefully taped centrally to the back of the mount to keep in place ready for framing, I then include a strong backing card to keep the print flat. The mounted artwork will fit a standard 10x8" frame. Size of printed artwork (without mount) 8x6" Please note the prints come UNFRAMED, but are MOUNTED & BACKED with strong card. All props/flowers/succulents/wooden toys/frames in the photos are used for the purposes of photo dressing, & not included PACKAGING & THE ENVIRONMENT: I do not use any single use plastic in my wrapping, & am conscious of my impact on the environment; I also only use eco-friendly water-based inks. Your print will come in a hard backed envelope with backing card & mount to protect & keep it flat, & will be carefully wrapped in layers of tissue paper (tissue paper varies from photos). If you do find any plastic in your wrapping it will be something I have reused. I have not found the lack of plastic in my wrapping a problem as yet, but if you experience any issues on receiving your print, please do contact me immediately with photos of damage & I will be happy to replace it free of charge.
