100% Designed & handmade in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The cellar has been hand-glazed on the inside to protect the salt from clumping. Along with the turning lines, the unglazed exterior give the piece a chalky, textured finish. Finished in an elegant creamy colour, this cellar will sit comfortably in both contemporary or traditional settings. Larger than regular salt cellars, easily taking one full box of Maldon salt, it measures 45cm in circumference, 15cm high & 15cm wide, with a generous 9cm diameter opening (my husband's hand was used in the design process). It sits on a gentle pivot, making it easy to get your hand into when cooking. A popular choice for the home chef & those who prefer timeless, understated elegance in their kitchen. Also makes a unique house-warming gift, salt anniversary gift, or a gift for anyone who enjoys cooking & unique homewares pieces. Customers are also filling them to store garlic, eggs, chillies & even plants. Please note: This item is handmade from a natural material, so each item will be slightly different. Best to hand wash in soapy water and, from time to time, rub with a paste of bicarbonate of soda & water to remove grime build up. Fine sandpaper can be used to remove light markings.
