Description

Once you've neared Mille Lacs, perhaps stopped at one of the many giant walleye statues along the banks, you will immediately understand why the Ojibwe people named this body of water "Misi-zaaga-igan", or Grand Lake. Stretching across three counties, Mille Lacs Lake is Minnesota's second largest inland lake, & home to some of the state's best fishing. The relatively shallow & variable depths provide weedy habitats for fish with a lot of fight in them, while the shoreline is dotted with many cozy cabins, homes, & resorts. Archaeologists have written than some of the earliest human settlements occurred near Mille Lacs, & once you're there, it's easy to see why. This is an original, layered papercut piece, handmade in Minnesota, in a deliciously rich set of Royal blues, & featuring the massive Mille Lacs Lake. This unique piece is intricately cut from five layers of high quality, acid-free cardstock. The top layer is a bright white, while the layers underneath are in ever-darker shades of color. Because this piece is handmade, it will differ very slightly from piece pictured here. The back is titled, signed & dated as an original piece. The work measures 8 x 10 inches (about 20 x 25 cm), & is about 1/8" thick. It will be sent to you carefully wrapped & supported to ensure it arrives safely. Like the piece, but prefer a different color? Check out the fifth photo in this listing for all available color sets & be sure to mention your color choice in the message to seller upon checkout.
