Description

Staved teak tray designed by Henning Koppel for Danish retailer Georg Jensen. The round tray has a shaped rim, which was seen on all the pieces from this line. Provenance: this tray was owned by Bobbie de Marneffe of Massachusetts, a noted philanthropist & supporter of preservation at Edith Wharton's The Mount. Measures about 16 1/4 inches diameter, 1 1/8 inch high. Branded mark & previous owner's label on underside, 1960s. Overall condition is very good, with no splits to the wood or along the joins. There is minor surface wear, with a few scratches & tiny dents at the edges. Natural variation in the color & figure of the wood.
