This painting recalls the 2018 moment when I first saw the spires of Gaudi's masterpiece towering above the trees in this pretty park. It took my breath away & gave me another of those "This really exists!" realizations. Each 2.5" x 3.5" miniature painting is created from a personal travel photo & lovingly recreated over many hours in an illustrative style first as a detailed ink drawing & then painted with vibrant watercolours... often with the aid of a magnifier.
