An original ink & watercolour miniature painting of an Italian door that has it all! This port-side door in the Riviera town of Camogli was my favourite of a recent trip to the region. Bougainvillea in bool above a faded brick arch. A very solid forest-green door to weather the storms & waves. & a stone wall plaque beside this door, espousing in Italian: "SEA. You challenge time since the dawn of the world." All this made my imagination go into high gear! So much potential mystery, romance & poetry in one door! Each 2.5" x 3.5" miniature painting is created from a personal travel photo & lovingly recreated over many hours in an illustrative style first as a detailed ink drawing & then painted with vibrant watercolours... often with the aid of a magnifier.
