A beautiful & unique Louis XV style birdseye maple bombe display cabinet from the early 20th century. Handcrafted in Spain, the two piece antique features an architectural shaped step top, extensive gilt ormolu beaded trim throughout, including framing the long glass panels at either side & locking glass door with ormolu escutcheon at center. The door opening to reveal two, quarter inch thick glass shelves, in front of textured scrolling floral & foliage motif white wallpaper back. The interior is bright with glass on three sides bringing in light & a white background, items placed inside instantly become a focal point & display beautifully. The curio cabinet rests atop a bombe form base. Having a serpentine shaped top with moulded edge, over a nicely curved body, scalloped apron, between the two, applied dore bronze ormolu highlights the front, flanked by chiseled dore bronze ormolu mounted cabriole legs, terminating on gilded bronze sabots. Retains blue "Made in Spain" label. Stamped "XII" Dimensions (approx): 36"w, 66"h, 18"d Good condition. Nicely aged patina. Lots of character & charm. Some wear/tear from age/use, reminiscent of mild distressing. Structurally sound. Solid/sturdy. Delivered cleaned, waxed, polished & ready for many years of use.
