Combining lino cut with a graduated screenprinted background colour, this Exeter Cathedral print celebrates some of the key birds of note in the area. I got the inspiration during the Exeter Craft Festival one year. A peregrine was heard overhead while I got "bombed" by a seagull, while discussing the nearby "Swift Tower". Paper size: 37cm x 37cm / 14 ½ " x 14 ½ " Image size: 31cm x 31cm / 12 ¼ " x 12 ½ " Editioned on Fabriano Artistico cotton paper in an edition of just 7 & signed in pencil. The lino cut is printed with blended dark blues & browns with oil based relief ink over a faded sky-blue water based screen ink. The photo of a framed print is an example only. This artwork was conceived & created solely as an original fine art print. Unlike a gicleé print or any other computer print out, none of my prints are reproductions of a pre-existing painting or drawing. I like to use top quality heavy weight paper (this one is Fabriano Artistico 300gm cotton paper) so It is best not to roll up prints for posting.
