Description

A contemporary print of a rather old symbol here in Greece. Did you know that in Ancient Greece the goddess Athena kept an owl on her shoulder that revealed truths to her, thanks to its wisdom & knowledge? Even coins of Athens were embossed with an owl design after 510BC (tetradrachms) & in allegiance to its patron virgin goddess Athena, herself considered to be bright-eyed & farsighted like an owl, owls were commonly reproduced on vases & amphora & still symbolize a high pedigree of wisdom in contemporary Greece. Artist print from an original illustration by Sarah Galanaki-Moore 21 x 30cm - fits in a standard A4 frame. (Frame shown in listing photo not included, but a typical Ikea frame fits!) A quality print, packaged in a cello bag with a protective backing board. Digitally printed in Greece on 300g matte archival cardstock very slightly textured Shipped in a sturdy envelope. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
