This painting is my interpretation of a Swan Maiden & is part of "Mythed Flight", a series of winged mythological figures originally painted in oils. The Swan Maiden is a mythical creature who shapeshifts from human form to swan form. The key to the transformation is usually a swan feather garment. in folktales, a hunter spies the maiden bathing, then snatches away the feather garment which prevents her from flying away, forcing her to become his wife. After bearing his children, at some point the maiden finds her hidden garment & is freed to leave. My Swan Maiden has just found her garment - the "key" to unlocking her "bonds". This is a Giclee fine art print - printed with archival, non-fading inks on archival paper. Please specify your preference of image size (other sizes available on request).
