As far as I can google, this is the first damascus steel exterior wood ring ever made, at least until the imitators start noticing. The Damascus Steel used in this ring is not the hand-wrought sort in the other listing, but rather created for me by a professional jeweler. Unlike the other kind of damascus that I offer, this style is NOT limited to a mere 4 per month. The relative simplicity of bourbon barrel white oak really contrasts nicely with the complexity of damascus steel. The inner liner of this ring is made from a genuine used Jack Daniels Whiskey® white oak barrel. Almost as much work goes into perfecting a bourbon barrel as does perfecting the iconic American whiskey. Carefully selected American White Oak is slowly dried outdoors for nearly a year. After being exposed to the rain & sun, it is kiln dried, assembled, & then charred to release the naturally occurring flavors that will be imparted to the whiskey. Though the blanks reek of whiskey, the final products (sadly, from an authenticity perspective) have no odor, having been sealed with finish.
