ABOUT: - One of a kind unique handbuilt ceramic serving plate featuring folk-style bird & flower motif. - Beautifully glazed with cream white pink, underglaze & food-safe transparent glaze. - Features folk-style bird carved in sgraffito technique. - Fired in a kiln twice. This listing is for a one of a kind ceramic serving plate with a composition of a folk-style bird & flower motif in cream underglaze, done in the sgraffito technique. This original footed clay dish is handbuilt & decorated using various underglazes & food-safe transparent glaze. At first I built the plate using fine terracotta clay. Once the softness of the clay had reached 'leather-hard' stage, I applied underglazes & drew as well as carved out the design with folk-style motif. Next, the decorated plate went into the kiln to be bisque-fired at 1000 degrees Celsius. Then I added transparent glaze, & it went into the kiln again for the second firing. Please note that due to its unique handmade nature the plate might have some imperfections, which add to it's charm. This plate is entirely food safe.
