Description
This is a unique hand built large ceramic bowl with a hand painted koi fish design. It is made from stoneware clay & painted with white porcelain slip. Before the first bisque firing I painted the koi fish design onto the unfired clay using underglazes & oxides. The bowl is then bisque fired & glazed in two separate firings. Mother of pearl, green, blue & real gold lustre is added before the bowl was fired for a third time. The lustres give the bowl an iridescent & watery effect. This large, shallow bowl is food safe & can be washed in hot soapy water & also will make a beautiful decorative statement on your table top or counter. This is a unique piece to be treasured & it should last a lifetime, or longer - something to be passed down through the generations of your family.
