Wood fired Chawan Matcha Sankaku-gata Triangular Shape Tea Bowl Hand formed Anagama Kiln Japanese Styled Tea Ceremony Chino Glaze This tea bowl is unique. Its shape was created only by hands (Hand formed). Only hands, clay & iron or wood scraper. You can see fingerprints on the sides of the bowl. This tea bowl is covered with wood ash. Natural wood ash: pottery surface is left unglazed & takes on color & markings during the firing from the melted wood ash. It was fired in an anagama kiln for 140 hours. The temperature reached 1350 degrees (wood fired). This chawan was created for communication, & it also does it on a tactile level... Dimensions: Diameter of bowl.: 5,5" (14 cm) Height: 3,15 " ( 8 cm) Regularity. If our cup falls into the hands, it's not desirable to let go of it. This is a hand formed faceted tea bowl carved out of stoneware clay. When I make a chawan I do not use mechanical or electric potter's wheel. This is an old Japanese technique.
