Stoneware drinking vessel. Gareth has used a combination of dipping & brush on glazes to invoke the idea of an ever changing landscape. Time is a strange thing, we can observe it from our own point of view. & then there is the vastness of time which will eventually move through & away from us. The movement of tectonic plates, mountains rising & magma swirling beneath our feet. The profound changes we have no control over should be embraced as part of our lives. These ideas have inspired this piece & many others of Gareth's ceramic works. Raw liquorish magma contrasts with translucent soft pink. The clay body is flecked with basalt, adding an attractive speckled appearance throughout the piece. Size - H - 8 cm W - 6.5cm Food safe. Profound Change, Hand Thrown Vessel 01
