This wooden dreidel brings back a sense of Holiday & tradition to any celebration. We play year-round with special games around the winter holidays. Perfect for traditional Hanukkah, Christmas, or other holiday celebrations we use our dreidel & game to teach our children about the historical & cultural origins & significance of the popular children's game. It's an inclusive version of the classic dreidel! Check out our custom dreidels in the shop to personalize your own set! The dreidel is sourced & then engraved here in the shop with custom inscriptions providing the Hebrew character, the phonetic Hebrew pronunciation, & a small English hint on the rule of play for that side. The dreidel is a two-part woodturning with laser engraved gameplay symbols & instructions. It is 1" wide & 2-1/2" high. I include an instruction card for each dreidel. Instructions: Players start with 10-20 playing pieces. We use coins, raisins, chocolates, coins, candies, or even pebbles. Each player adds a piece to the center pot & play begins. Each player spins the dreidel once during their turn. Depending on which player's side is facing up when it stops spinning, they give or take game pieces from the pot: a) If נ (nun) is facing up, the player does nothing. b) If ג (gimel) is facing up, the player gets everything in the pot. c) If ה (hey) is facing up, the player gets half of the pieces in the pot. (Rounded up if there are an odd number.) d) If ש (shin) is facing up, the player adds one or 3 pieces to the pot- this should be decided before the game begins. If a player runs out of pieces they are out. (Of course, you can always ask for a loan) I sing to myself as I package each one: O' dreidel, dreidel, dreidel - I made you out of wood. Added some engravings, & now you look so good! (It's catchy, right?) Brighten up your Chanukah celebration with this fun game. Note- The engraving goes from right to left as you turn the dreidel to follow the convention of the Hebrew language. Each dreidel in your order comes with a small card listing the instructions described above. If you need 150, for example- I will adjust via refund for the 50 to bring them down to the wholesale rate of 100. Orders of 2 dozen or more can get free customization with your event info, team name, or special message.
