PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION CLOSELY TO AVOID CONFUSION! IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON DEADLINES! I am currently booked until the end of February 2025. If you order now, your sontag will be ready by the end of March 2025. This is a hand-knitted Victorian sontag made from an original 1860 pattern published in Godey's Lady's Book (see the pattern drawing in the photos). It is essentially a shawl & a vest combined, with a specific shape to wrap around your torso nicely, & with a button closure & cords to secure it in place. The pattern also suggests giving it a white border with black embroidered dots "in imitation of ermine," although I was asked to make it all grey. You can choose to have it with the black "ermine" border or notplease specify in the personalization section. I make it from a very soft & warm untreated 100% alpaca yarn. However, this yarn has a limited shade range (only natural colors). Please message me if you would like a sontag in a brighter color, I will find yarn alternatives for you. To choose the color, consult the yarn range in the photos. To make the sontag fit you better, please provide your chest measurement in the personalization section.
