Some , in particular , have caught my eye & touched my heart. I've recently become an empty nester, so I have more time to research & bring these beautiful antiques to you! These antiques are meant to compliment the time-touched & soulful aesthetic that textiles offer. Thank you very much for letting me bring my passions to life & bring these antiques to light. ITEM SPECIFICS : This 17th century ( 1600's) , Portuguese tile is handmade & hand painted please see a bit of history of Portuguese tiles below) . I found a set of these! please see others matching ~ what an amazing piece of history ~ the blues are so wonderfully pleasing to look at. I use these tiles decoratively in my home. Some I have used for its intended purpose as a tile, other are decorative objects, displayed in various area of my home ~ MEASUREMENTS: Approximately 5.5 inches by 5.5 inches CONDITION: Please see the photographs for the exact condition. These are in antique condition with signs of time & use ~ Inventory : Tile 27 The historic Moorish art mixed with the 16th-century Italian invention of "majolica" painting colors directly onto wet clay over a layer of white enamel made the tiles bright & vibrant & the Portuguese fell in love with the art form. The 1755 earthquake has a significant impact on Lisbon's architecture known nowadays.
