Pair of iconic Marcel Breuer S 32 chairs for Thonet, manufactured in 1984 by Thonet. Made of chromed steel with dark brown lacquered wooden frames, original cane webbing. Very good condition with signs of use & age, one small break in the cane webbing, see second last photo. Marcel Breuer designed the iconic tubular steel collection in 1929-1930, in which he found a way to mix old with new. While Thonet had a tradition in bentwood furniture & wickerwork, Breuer combined these traditions with the revolutionary use of tubular steel.
