"Paoenia" from the scientific name for Peony, is a print based on a floral drawing study I made when my son was an infant sleeping in my lap. It is the first 9x12" size print I have been able to offer from my home studio & it turned out so lovely! This print would be beautiful framed, or given as a gift to a fellow flower lover. One print on BFK Rives, a high quality printmaking paper in white that measures approximately 9 x 12" from each hand-torn or deckled edge. The ink used is Speedball Professional Relief Inks in Supergraphic black. Every print starts with drawings & sketches before the design is finalized, then it is carefully carved from linoleum blocks with carving tools. Next, ink is rolled on the block to check that the image is correct & carving is complete & then each print is individually inked, rolled through a press, & then hung to dry in my studio. As a result of the hand-printing process, each print is unique & lovingly made. Each print will be shipped in a protective plastic sleeve.
