This holiday card design is taken from my stencil painting "Northern Cardinal with Santa Claus Club Statue, Valatie, Columbia County". The Valatie Santa Claus Club was founded on Christmas Eve, 1946. Valatie is also where Virginia O'Hanlon Douglas, the little girl of "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" published in 1897, spent her final years. This is one of "Holidays in Upstate New York', a series of stencil paintings that feature local birds with a local Christmas tree farm, holiday market, decorated historic sites, & winter scenery from Hudson Valley.
