This listing is for one 50g spool of corded french waxed linen thread, on a plastic spool like you can see in the pictures. Being corded means it has been twisted twice: it is made of three strands each of which consists of three strands. Cabling increases the resistance, giving a nicely rounded thread. I carry three thicknesses, this listing here is for the threads No. 332 which has a diameter of approximately 0.7mm. One spool has approximately 133 meter of thread or 145 yards (but the thread is sold by weight, & appearance & length can vary slightly). The brand Fil Au Chinois was first registered in 1847 in Lille & the thread is still produced in France. The name dates back to that period in France when anything Oriental was fashionable. This product does not come from China. Linen thread is especially strong, & abrasion resistant. This thread here is very slightly waxed. This makes it easier to use & gives it a pleasant sheen. It is not sticky at all - other than the heavily waxed Irish linen thread. This thread can be used everywhere where a strong thread is needed, including fine leatherworks, beading, bookbinding, puppets on strings, knotting, & many more.
