Description
The Faun Animorph Vessel is a sculpted & hand-turned goblet which is a unique & one-of as part of an Alembic Vessel series created to explore intersections between forms in the plant, animal & human domains. This artwork represents an example of "ternary turnery", being hand-turned & hand-sculpted from three segments each of Silver Ash & Silky Oak. The Lower section of the vessel is contoured to evoke the delicate hind legs of a forest animal, while the cup takes on the shape reminiscent of an egg or a flower cup (depending on your mood when you view it). This artwork is 161mm (6.34 inches) high & 77mm (3.03 inches) across & weighs 62 grams. The finish is hand-burnished clear acrylic polymer lacquer. As part of the NightWing collector's series, the Faun Animorph Alembic Vessel is provided with a handmade padded & velvet-lined box for display or storage (see images 9 & 10).
