One hundred dots decoupaged images from vintage encyclopedias & mounted geometrically. I collect & sort hundreds & hundreds of images from antique books & covers & illustrations from vintage maps. I group them by theme & over time amass enough of a certain theme to create an artwork. Some of these little images are from vintage books of up to approx 70 years old. I am particularly drawn to the vintage imagery that's created using old litho print methods. The colours of the landscapes are often a violet or green hue. The old plates are carefully extracted from the books, & bonded onto birch plywood boards giving them a textured hand-painted surface texture. The sheets are then laser cut into these 3cm dots. 55cm x 55cm Available framed in a white or black box frame. We use museum-quality UV perspex glaze to protect the artwork from fade. Carefully wrapped & packaged inside a custom-made box with protective corners for safe shipping worldwide.
