Introducing our new product line of orrery lamps. We're launching several new orrery models that include a lighted Sun globe. These new orreries are not mass produced & entirely unique to OrreryArt shop. For your consideration: Our Transit Orrery Lamp, a 4 planet Solar System model with a lighted Sun. This beautiful lamp is a correct relative orbital clockwork & astronomical instrument depicting the Sun & 4 inner planets from Mercury to Mars. The Sun is a hand painted glass globe detailed in faux hydrogen-alpha filtered Sun presentation (extremely realistic). The orrery is lit by our proprietary LED interior & is activated by a discreet switch in the rear of the unit. Please note: This is not a 3D printed plastic multi colored ball (that will end up as a dog's toy). It is a hand blown, hand painted glass globe with a replaceable LED bulb (20,000 hours). We include a second replacement bulb as well. An internal rechargeable battery enables operation for 8 hours; a USB cable (included) attaches for periodic charging which takes about 3 hours. The Transit Orrery can be operated during charging. The mechanical componentsgears, tubes, planet arms, & driveare all brass, stainless steel & nylon. The planets & moons are semi-precious stones & are identified in the owner's manual. Assembly takes about 15 minutes & easy detailed instructions are included. The entire apparatus sits in a sturdy 4-legged stand with a beautiful constellation ring surround. This is a truly stunning science instrument with fine craftsmanship & engineering detailed design. It is fashioned entirely at our workshop in Boulder, CO USA. We design & craft these from raw materials. We have been making fine orrery & science instruments for over 28 years.
