Description

Meet our Japanese Kamacco Rice Cooker Donabe, White, traditionally crafted by Tsukamoto Pottery in Tochigi, Japan. The single to double-serving, double-lidded donabe clay pot slowly cooks rice to perfection, making it fluffy & sweet. Each pot makes 1 go, the standard Japanese rice cup measurement, which is equivalent to 2 1/4 US cups. Compared to metal cook pots which heat up & cool down quickly, donabe pots gradually conduct heat to draw out the sweetness of rice & steam each & every grain to a fluffy texture, allowing even a novice to make cook delicious rice. The pots are also perfect for cooking hotpot, cooking boiled eggs or other dishes. The outer lid can function as a rice bowl, while the inner lid as a rice bowl cover & as a measuring cup - it measures 1 go (equivalent to 2 1/4 US cups). Use on gas stovetops (not electric stovetops) or in an oven up to 500oF. Hand wash only. Dimension: approx. Ø 5.7" (14.5cm) x H 4.9" (12.5cm) Glazed ceramic. Food-safe. Lead-free. Made in Japan. Here is the cooking instruction in English as the instruction sheet included in the product packaging is in Japanese: 1. Measure with the inner lid: The lid has two layers. Use the smaller inner layer lid to measure the rice. The amount of rice needed is the level to the rim of the inner lid. 2. Rinse the rice & soak it in water: Rinse the rice by hand until the water becomes clear. Put the rinsed rice & a full inner lid of water into the pot & let it soak for 30 minutes before placing it on the stove. 3. Cook over low heat for about 20 minutes.: Cook the pot on the stove over low heat for about 20 minutes. Each stove has a different heat level, so try a few times to find the best cooking time for your preference. 4. Steam for about 10 minutes: To make the rice fluffy, steam the rice for about 10 minutes after the vapor stops coming out of the holes in the outer lid. Japanese Kamacco Rice Cooker Donabe, White
