Encaustic medium has been around for 2000 years & is a time-honored method of art. It is durable & archival. Care Instructions: 1. Do not expose to direct sunlight 2. Avoid storing in extreme hot or cold temperatures. The medium softens at 150 degrees F, melting at 180 degrees F. 3. When transporting first wrap in wax paper & then bubble wrap & insulating peanuts, never wrap directly with bubble wrap. 4. As with any artwork handle gently. Although hardened, encaustic can be scratched. 5. Encaustic medium never yellows. 6. Encaustic works can be buffed to a high shine, use all cotton soft cloth or a cloth used to clean lenses & gently rub in small circular motion to polish. Original Encaustic Gouache Art.
