The formation of porphyry deposits is related to hydrothermal processes. These deposits are carried by a solution of high temperature water & deposited under the surface. These porphyry deposits usually form Au metal deposits & are associated with the stockwork system. Stockwork is a condition where minerals accumulate above igneous intrusion & form a complex system of multiple & random veins. The location of these veins causes porphyry ore deposits to form.
