There is a small amount of kemp (hairs) in this wool. The Faroe Island Sheep is one of the Northern European short-tailed breed of sheep, related to Icelandics & Shetlands. They are a small, hardy breed of sheep, producing wool in several beautiful colors. The staple length is about 3 1/2 to 4 inches, with a micron count of about 34 - 36.
