Scarce WW1 US Greyhound Postal Service USPS Patch No Glow. The American Expeditionary Force serving in France during World War One generated an enormous amount of mail, both outgoing & incoming. The monumental task of receiving, sorting, distributing, & shipping mail became the duties of the United States Military Postal Express Service. On May 9 1918, under General Order No. 72 the Military Postal Express Service (M.P.E.S.) was established under the direction of the Adjutant General A.E.F.. General Orders No. 155 General Headquarters, A.E.F., 13 September 1918 amended the name of the Military Postal Express Service to Postal Express Service. There were approximately 1600 soldiers assigned the Postal Express Service. We describe our items the best we can. Please look over the pictures carefully & ask questions.
