This piece is just captivating. The bust is symbolically carved from a single piece of black mpingo wood or similar African hard wood. It portrays mother & child in a unified embrace. It is 3 dimensional with a brilliant natural sheen. It is one-of-a-kind, being handcrafted in African in the 1940's. This piece measures 10.5 inches tall, is 5.25 inches wide & is 3.5 inches deep. It weighs just over 1 1/2 pounds. Any variations in color are due to the wood & aging process, adding to the value of this piece. Shipping will include insurance due to the rarity of this piece.
